This summer, after a series of special events and pop-ups, I have begun to continue my work on a new series. This typically means I start about 3 series of works and continue until I find a subject matter that I want to pursue.

Watercolors

I have enjoyed this season working in QoR watercolors, a highly pigmented line of watercolors from Golden Artist Colors. Though I have stuck to painting on traditional supports such as Arches Cold Pressed and Hot Pressed Papers – I have enjoyed the versatility of mark making with the vivacious colors and the portability of this series.

Textured Acrylics

As always – I continue my work with abstracting acrylic landscapes based on my travels through British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. I have switched my main texture to be Golden Coarse Molding Paste for a few weeks to experiment with a harsher texture, and I have also included metallic pigments into the landscapes.

Oil Painting

Another medium? yes of course! I absolutely love working in Williamsburg Hand-ground Oil Paint. The color variations are so rich and beautifully granulated.
